Staff, volunteers, and the families supported at Home-Start Elmbridge are delighted to have been chosen as the Mayor of Elmbridge’s Charity for the year 2024/25.
Newly appointed Mayor of Elmbridge, Neil Houston, formally announced his support for the charity at a special launch event held at Hummings café in Esher, on Thursday 16 May. He was joined by the Chair for Home-Start Elmbridge, Kathy Clark and Programme Director, Carol Hodges who spoke about the vital service that the charity provides to parents and their children across the borough.
Carol said, ‘Having the support of the Mayor of Elmbridge means so much to our charity. Year on year we are working with increasing numbers of families in the local area who are facing real difficulties – from social isolation through to living in poverty. Our aim is to provide as much practical and emotional support as possible through our network of specially trained volunteers and highly experience Family Co-ordinators.
“Without our service, many children’s lives would be adversely affected, and their future development and wellbeing put at risk. This is why it’s so important for us to create awareness of what we do and raise sufficient funds to ensure we continue to provide the level of support needed across Elmbridge.”
The Mayor and Mayoress will be working with Home-Start Elmbridge throughout 2024/25 to raise awareness of the charity within the local community and support fundraising activities at key points in the year. Please subscribe to our newsletter to keep up to date.
