We see the reality of poverty every day through the referrals we receive. Families across Elmbridge are struggling to meet their children’s most basic needs, and we believe that no child should have to start life at a disadvantage because of financial hardship. That’s why we’re proud to sign the End Poverty Pledge, committing to play our part in working towards an Elmbridge that is poverty-free.
Poverty is complex, affecting every aspect of a child’s life. Our approach is practical, compassionate and collaborative. We support families in completing Disability Living Allowance (DLA) applications and offer free parenting courses to build strong, nurturing homes.
We connect families to essential resources such as Elmbridge Community Eco Hub, Stripey Stork and The Bridge. We help secure household items through grant applications and work with SGN to tackle fuel poverty.
We run cooking sessions, providing crockpots to our families and teaching them to provide affordable, nutritious meals, and even our postnatal group is embracing sustainability, using reusable coffee cups to reduce waste and modelling care for our planet.
Tackling poverty requires a collective effort. We encourage other local organisations to join us in taking meaningful action to build an Elmbridge where no child’s future is limited by financial hardship.
